Textbook: Getlein, Mark. Living with Art (11th, 12th, or 13th edition). Please check with Mrs. Roller for directions on purchasing a textbook.

9" x 12" (or larger) sketchbook. This course includes lectures, class discussions, exams, and writing assignments. The course's additional "fun" component will entail field trips to museums and galleries. Some of these visits will be class-led by the teacher, and other outings are the student's responsibility. The sketchbook is to be used to document the gallery and museum visits. Students may use the sketchbook space to describe, analyze, interpret, and judge the work they are viewing. Learners are encouraged to use their sketchbooks to document their art experiences creatively. For example, one may create a collage from brochures received during the gallery/museum visits or sketch their visit's interior/ exterior space. Options are endless. Students should view the sketchbook assignments as an opportunity to boost their grades if needed.

Sizeable 3-ring binder for handouts and notes (notes may be used for the final examination)
