Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for the Tremont Community Unit School District #702
I. A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the Tremont Community
Unit School District #702 for 2024 will be held on December 12, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Superintendent’s Conference Room at the Tremont High School, 400 Pearl Street, Tremont, IL.
Any person desiring to appear at the public hearing and present testimony to the taxing district

II. The corporate and special purpose property taxes extended or abated for the year 2023 were
$6,278,514.39.
The proposed corporate and special purpose property taxes to be levied for 2024 are
$7,826,150.00. This represents a 24.65% increase over the previous year.
III. The property taxes extended for debt service and public building commission leases for 2023
were $1,276,638.55.
The estimated property taxes to be levied for debt service and public building commission leases
for 2024 are $201,732.00. This represents an 84.2% decrease over the previous year.
IV. The total property taxes extended or abated for 2023 were $7,573,292.88.
The estimated total property taxes to be levied for 2024 are $8,027,882.00. This represents a
6.0% increase over the previous year.
