On Saturday, February 22nd, Tremont High School’s Student Council traveled to Bloomington’s Miller Park Lake to participate in the annual Polar Plunge for Special Olympics. As part of this year’s Polar Plunge, the Special Olympics challenged local high schools to come on out to support special needs students by finding donors who would pledge money in conjunction with the plunge. This year, about ten local high schools participated in the plunge with Tremont High School Student Council having one of the larger groups from the area. At this event alone, a total of 800 brave plungers raised $160,000 for the athletes of Special Olympics Illinois. Tremont High School Student Council raised over $4,000 for this event with K. Fehr raising the most money individually with a total of $1,200. Although the water was freezing, the THS Student Council braved the icy waters (literally) in support of this great cause. Great job Tremont High School Student Council!

On behalf of the staff and students of Tremont High School, I thank you for visiting our website. We are looking forward to another great school year here at Tremont High School. Through the hard work, dedication, and expertise of our faculty, we will continue to provide the very best education possible to our students. We offer a great deal of curricular and extracurricular opportunities to our students and we are proud of our successes over the years. 75% of Tremont High School juniors met or exceeded state standards on the Prairie State Achievement Exam last spring, marking the eleventh consecutive year that THS has had at least 70% meet or exceed. No other Heart of Illinois Conference (HOIC) school has achieved this more than three consecutive years. On top of the academic success last year, THS also won its fourth HOIC All-Sports Award in the eight-year history of the conference. We truly believe we offer a high-quality, well-rounded education to our students as we prepare them for life after high school.
As we work our way through the challenges of a school year together, it will be important to maintain a strong, positive relationship between the school and the community. We hope that this website can be a great resource for our community members to access important information. Go Turks!
